A trio of wood-art exhibits in Asheville will testify to the medium’s lastingness while touting its versatility. Wood Moving Forward at Blue Spiral 1 (July 1-Sept. 30) promotes progressive sculptural work by rising Southern artists. A Wood Collector’s Home at Grovewood Gallery (July 1-Oct. 2) reaches across North America to stage three rooms with our continent’s most notable handcrafted furniture. And The Fine Art of Wood: An International Invitational Exhibit of Woodturning goes global: running through Sept. 5 at the North Carolina Arboretum with selected demonstration weekends, it boasts contributions from the most skilled woodworkers in the world.
