New construction, local builders to be highlighted in fall event

There are still five days left for local builders to enter a masterpiece-in-progress for consideration in the Asheville Home Builders Association annual Parade of Homes. Executive Director Caroline Sutton recently announced that the AHBA board will look at entries through Friday, July 22.
It's a landmark anniversary -- 30 years of cultural and architectural changes -- for the event, which aims to highlight local builders while showing the potential home-buying public the best in available options for new construction. Bellwether Design-Build, PebbleDash Builders, Greencraft, and Brookstone Builders are among the companies that have submitted projects for 2011's installment.
The Parade is free, happening 12-5 pm October 8, 9, 15, and 16. Attendees and builders, check the website for details.
