By pushing the undersized kitchen out by a mere two feet, installing a skylight and streamlining cabinetry, architect Jim Samsel transformed the cramped space into a bright and functional work area. Summerwood Joinery created the custom cabinets and included deep drawers and tray racks to accommodate the homeowners’ collection of handcrafted pottery dinnerware. The fanciful bar stools are by Ries Niemi.
